Annual street sale and car boot sale in Souillac, outdoors in the heart of the town
Each year, Souillac hosts its grand braderie, a highly anticipated event in local life that takes over the streets and squares of the town. Combining sales from shopkeepers, a car boot sale, and association activities, the Braderie de Souillac is a moment of conviviality and good deals appreciated by the entire population of the Souillac area and the many tourists passing through this unmissable stop in Quercy Noir.
Souillac is a commercial and tourist town strategically located at the confluence of the Dordogne and Borrèze valleys. Its 12th-century Romanesque abbey church, with its remarkable sculptures and the famous Zampognar automaton, makes it a prime cultural stop for visitors to the Lot. Its active commercial fabric and numerous associations make Souillac a lively center for surrounding communities. The annual braderie is an opportunity for all local stakeholders to come together and offer their deals to the public.
The Braderie de Souillac brings together a wide variety of exhibitors. Town center shopkeepers put their discounted racks and tables on the sidewalks, offering discounted new items at attractive prices. Local associations run stalls selling second-hand goods and creative items. Individuals participate in the car boot sale integrated into the braderie to clear out their homes. All this creates an eclectic and lively market, where you can find clothing, shoes, household items, trinkets, books, and local products in a popular festive atmosphere.
The Souillac braderie is part of a long tradition of French braderies, these large clearance sales and open-air markets that liven up town centers. It contributes to the commercial vitality of Souillac and the maintenance of local entertainment throughout the summer. Volunteers and shopkeepers are committed to making it a festive occasion that goes beyond the simple commercial framework to become a true neighborhood and town celebration.
The Braderie de Souillac is an annual street market that enlivens the town center of Souillac (Lot) in autumn, traditionally in September. Traders and exhibitors set up their stalls in the streets of the old town: discounted items, clothing, household goods, books, trinkets, and local products await bargain hunters and visitors.
Organized in conjunction with ARTICOMM (the association of traders from the Souillac region), the Braderie de Souillac takes over the historic town center each year. Residents and visitors come to hunt for bargains among the stalls set up in the town's streets.
The 2025 edition was held on September 20. The exact date for the 2026 edition had not yet been published by the town hall and tourist office at the time of our verification (June 2026); it is usually set for mid-September. To confirm the definitive date, consult the Souillac town hall website or contact ARTICOMM.
