Spring hunt in the rural commune of the Toulon area
La Crau lies between Hyères and La Garde in the Toulon area, blending a Provençal rural identity with closeness to the main Var urban centre. Famous for its AOP olive oil and market-garden production, it keeps the true feel of a large Provençal village with shaded squares, local shops and a renowned weekly market.
The 19 April 2026 flea market is part of the commune's spring calendar, drawing residents and some occasional dealers.
The event attracts a loyal crowd from La Crau, neighbouring towns (Cuers, Solliès-Pont, Hyères, La Garde) and the Toulon metro area. A typical Provençal atmosphere: friendly, relaxed, with plenty of chat between sellers and browsers.
Beyond the flea market, visit La Crau's agricultural heritage. The Gabrielli oil mill keeps the local olive tradition alive. The Jardin de la Courtine and the Moutonne park offer lovely family walks. The farmland of greenhouses and olive groves speaks to a living Provençal terroir.
Come early for the best pieces and the cool morning air. Bring small change and bags. The Provençal market on Tuesday and Saturday morning complements the visit with local produce.
