Car boot sale and baby flea market organized by the Rosko–Praz-sur-Arly twinning committee at the Roscoff multipurpose hall
Every March, the Roscoff–Praz-sur-Arly twinning committee organizes the BB-greniers at the Roscoff multipurpose hall. This event combines a classic car boot sale and a baby flea market, bringing together about 60 private exhibitors. In a friendly atmosphere, children's clothing, toys, and childcare items are found alongside all sorts of objects for a morning of treasure hunting in North Finistère.
Roscoff, a small port town in North Finistère, is known for its vibrant community spirit despite its modest size. Among the associations that animate local life, the Rosko–Praz-sur-Arly twinning committee holds a special place. This committee, which manages exchanges between Roscoff (Rosko in Breton) and Praz-sur-Arly, a commune in Haute-Savoie, organizes an annual car boot sale in March called “BB-greniers”.
The name “BB-greniers” is an evocative play on words that combines two complementary types of events: the classic car boot sale and the baby flea market. The “BB” refers both to babies – as the event places a strong emphasis on childcare items and children's clothing – and to the “BB” of the Franco-French twinning between two communes with very different histories. This conceptual originality contributes to the event's unique identity.
The event takes place at the Roscoff multipurpose hall, a comfortable indoor space that shields attendees from the March weather. Approximately 60 private exhibitors set up to offer their items: clothing and shoes for children and adults, toys and board games, childcare equipment (strollers, car seats, bouncers, etc.), books, trinkets, and various objects. The diversity of offerings is one of the event's strengths.
Registration is done by requesting a form from the twinning committee, by mail or phone. Light refreshments are available on-site for visitors. The event is primarily aimed at individuals, in the spirit of neighborhood flea markets and community car boot sales that dot the Breton calendar.
The twinning between Roscoff and Praz-sur-Arly symbolizes the bonds forged over decades between two communes with contrasting landscapes and cultures – maritime Brittany and alpine Savoy. School exchanges, reciprocal stays, and events organized by the twinning committee allow residents of both towns to discover each other and share their traditions. The BB-greniers of Roscoff are part of this local animation dynamic that benefits the entire Roscoff community.
On Sunday, March 1, 2026, the BB-greniers return to the Roscoff multipurpose hall. Approximately 60 private exhibitors will offer children's clothing, toys, childcare items, and various objects. A friendly event organized by the Rosko–Praz-sur-Arly twinning committee, with light refreshments available on-site.
