Benet APEL Notre-Dame grand flea market

Benet, about 3,700 inhabitants in south-east Vendée, bordering Deux-Sèvres, in the heart of the Marais Poitevin. The APEL Notre-Dame (private-school parents' association) gathers parents of the Catholic Notre-Dame school and regularly runs events to fund school projects and outdoor activities.

The annual grand flea market is one of the APEL's flagship events. 2025 edition was Sunday 18 May 2025 and gathered many private exhibitors in a friendly solidarity event. A new 2026 edition is expected in May per annual rhythm (exact date TBC).

A well-established event

School flea markets are a Vendée calendar classic. Benet's has seasoned organisation, with volunteers mobilised at dawn. Commune size (3,700) and school's prominence ensure good turnout, especially at a crossroads of several départements (85, 79, 17).
