Vaylats is a commune in the Lot (46230) belonging to the Cahors sector, in a landscape of causses and hills typical of Quercy. This small rural village hosts a particularly active association: La Passerelle de Vaylats, founded in 2008 to organize cultural, artistic, musical, sports and leisure activities, with the aim of financially supporting the restoration of communal heritage.

An event in three parts

The event organized by La Passerelle de Vaylats is divided into three complementary parts:

• The car boot sale: individuals and families come to clear out their cellars and attics of objects, clothes, books, and all sorts of bric-a-brac.
• The flea market: professional and semi-professional exhibitors offer antique objects, furniture, curiosities, and collector's items.
• The plant swap: a dedicated space allows amateur gardeners to exchange cuttings, seedlings, potted plants, and gardening tips. This original part attracts many plant and nature lovers.

Place de la salle polyvalente

The event is held on the square of the village hall (salle polyvalente) in Vaylats, a central and easily accessible location in the village. Exhibitor registration is by phone at 06 42 40 53 18, with exhibitor reception from 6:30 am and coffee offered. The participation fee is 2 euros per linear meter. Entry is free for visitors.

La Passerelle de Vaylats, for heritage

Since its creation in 2008, La Passerelle de Vaylats has contributed to numerous actions for local heritage and village associative life. Its events, including this car boot sale-flea market-plant swap, help finance restoration and cultural animation projects throughout the year. A fine example of associative dynamism in rural Quercy.

Access and information

Vaylats is accessible from Cahors (about twenty kilometers north) and from Lalbenque (a few kilometers). Refreshments and light meals are available on site. Parking in the village.
