The autumn toy sale at the Aulnay-sur-Mauldre community hall
Held in mid-November, the Aulnay-sur-Mauldre toy sale comes at just the right time for parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles preparing end-of-year gifts. The principle is simple: individuals sell toys, games, books and baby equipment their children no longer use, and other families come to buy them at low prices.
Plastic and wooden toys, plush animals, figurines, Playmobil, Lego, dolls, miniature vehicles, board games, puzzles, picture books, children's albums, baby clothes, puericulture equipment (strollers, high chairs, early learning toys): variety is guaranteed. Exhibitors are mainly parents who carefully sort through their children's things.
The event takes place at the Aulnay-sur-Mauldre community hall, a friendly sheltered venue. Indoors, in a heated atmosphere, visitors take time to examine each toy and chat with sellers.
With around 750 inhabitants, Aulnay-sur-Mauldre is one of the smallest villages in the Yvelines. Located in the Mauldre valley, the commune has preserved its rural character and community life.
Beyond practicality, the toy sale fits into a circular economy approach. Avoiding the purchase of new toys that will only be used for a few months and favouring short circuits between individuals appeal to more and more families.
