Amelior: France's Largest Resourcery in Bobigny

The Amelior Recyclery is not just any flea market. Founded in 2012 by Samuel Le Coeur, this pioneering association's mission is to gain recognition for the profession of biffin – those informal waste collectors who recycle and resell second-hand items – and to offer them a dignified setting in which to work. Located at 45 rue de Paris in Bobigny, on a 2,500 m² site provided by Syctom, it has become France's largest resourcery.

A Market Every Saturday Morning

Amelior's weekly flea market is held every Saturday from 7am to 6pm. Up to 150 vendors offer their wares in this open-air space: clothing, shoes, leather goods, toys, electronics, books, crockery, bric-à-brac and everything that imagination and recycling can produce. Prices are freely set by sellers, and bargaining is the norm in a popular, cosmopolitan market atmosphere.

The Circular Economy in Action

Amelior goes well beyond a simple market. The association collects materials (paper, plastics, textiles) from businesses and sells them to specialist recyclers. It runs a solidarity shop, administrative spaces for biffins, and offers free coffee to vendors. Positioned as a cooperative, it redistributes profits to its members and guarantees them a regular income.

Access and Practical Information

Amelior Resourcery is accessible from metro line 5 (Bobigny – Pablo Picasso station, about 5 minutes on foot) or from several bus stops on avenue de Metz. A dedicated car park for vendors is available on site. The flea market is outdoors.
