Spring indoor flea market at the Vulaines-sur-Seine town hall, over two days
The April Vulaines-sur-Seine flea market is a spring event organized by the town hall over two days, Saturday and Sunday. Held at the town hall, this event with its original format - items dropped off the day before - attracts individuals and bargain hunters from the Fontainebleau and Samois area. A local indoor flea market in a charming village along the Seine near the famous Fontainebleau forest.
Every spring, the Vulaines-sur-Seine town hall organizes an original two-day flea market at the town hall. The concept: exhibitors drop off their items Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm, the sale runs Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm continuously, and ends Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. Unsold items must be collected Sunday at 1:15 pm. This particular format, akin to a collective consignment sale, lets sellers drop off their items without having to run a stand continuously, while buyers get two full days of hunting.
A town of nearly 3,000 inhabitants in southern Seine-et-Marne, along the Seine and close to the Fontainebleau forest, Vulaines-sur-Seine charms visitors with its exceptional setting. The village is famous for hosting poet Stéphane Mallarmé, who spent his last years here in a house now a departmental museum. This cultural and literary dimension gives the town a unique identity, alongside its remarkable natural setting between river and forest.
The two-day format is particularly appealing to bargain-hunting enthusiasts. It allows visitors to return Sunday after a first visit Saturday, to spot pieces the first day and try to negotiate them the next, or to use the entire weekend for a cultural escape. For sellers, it also guarantees better visibility over a longer period. This organization shows the dynamism of the municipal team and its concern for offering residents quality service.
The Vulaines model, with items dropped off the day before and collected the last day, resembles a collective consignment sale. It is especially suited to people who don't want to run a stand for one or two days while still wanting to clear the house or attic of unused items. You'll find clothing, toys, books, dishware, decoration, baby gear, and sometimes light furniture.
Visitors bargain hunting in Vulaines can pleasantly extend their weekend. The Fontainebleau forest, a few minutes by car, offers hiking and climbing on its famous rocks. The Fontainebleau castle, UNESCO World Heritage, is also nearby. The Mallarmé museum, Samois church and Seine banks complete an ideal spring weekend program.
The flea market is held at the Vulaines-sur-Seine town hall, 6 rue Riché. Items dropped off Friday 5-8 pm. Sale Saturday 9 am-5 pm and Sunday 9 am-1 pm. Unsold collection Sunday 1:15 pm. Registrations at the town hall: 01 60 74 59 10 or [email protected]. Free admission for visitors.
