Spring community car boot sale in the heart of the Conflent, on the Vinça promenade facing Saint-Julien church
Every spring, the Vinça Gym Volontaire association organizes its traditional car boot sale on the village promenade, one of the most picturesque sites in the Conflent. Around sixty private exhibitors unpack their treasures from dawn: clothes, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, small furniture, decorative and collectible items. The event attracts bargain hunters and walkers from neighboring villages such as Ille-sur-Têt, Prades, Marquixanes and Baillestavy.
The car boot sale takes place on the promenade facing the remarkable Saint-Julien-et-Sainte-Basilisse church, an 11th-12th century Romanesque building listed as a Historic Monument. Its medieval frescoes, baroque altarpiece, and bell tower make it one of the jewels of the Conflent's religious heritage.
Nestled beside the Vinça lake and at the foot of the sacred Canigou massif (2,784 m), Vinça is known for its weekly market and heritage. The village also produces excellent fruits (peaches, apricots, cherries) thanks to its privileged Mediterranean climate.
