A sale dedicated to childhood

Vignacourt, a commune of about 2,000 inhabitants 20 km north-west of Amiens, holds its autumn toy, childcare and clothing sale each year. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday 11 October. Distinct from general flea markets, this targeted event specifically addresses families looking for toys, children's clothing, baby equipment and various items at low prices. A rendezvous particularly appreciated ahead of the year-end festivities.

The deposit-sale system

The sale usually works on a deposit-sale model organised by a local association (typically parents' association or festival committee). Depositors bring their items — pre-labelled with name and price — before the event. Organisers handle the sale during the day, then return unsold items to depositors and remit proceeds, less a small commission funding the association's activities. An efficient and fair model.

Toys for all ages (soft toys, learning toys, vehicles, dolls, construction sets, board games, puzzles, electronic games), children's clothing from newborn to teen, shoes, winter coats, childcare equipment (strollers, travel cots, bouncers, car seats, bottles), children's books, school bags, supplies. The offer is usually plentiful, varied and of good quality, items being checked at deposit.

A rendezvous before the festive season

October is strategic: parents anticipate Christmas gifts, winter clothes become necessary, the school year has revealed new needs. The Vignacourt sale falls at just the right moment to equip children cheaply, favouring second-hand and more responsible consumption. It attracts families from the entire northern Amiens area.

Vignacourt is an old village with a pronounced rural identity, bordered by the Vignacourt woods and known for its farming traditions. A historical curiosity: the commune holds the Thuillier collection, an extraordinary set of World War I photographic plates discovered in a Vignacourt attic.
