Vendée commune of around 8,000 year-round, from the 1967 merger of Saint-Gilles-sur-Vie and Croix-de-Vie. Main town of the Pays de Saint-Gilles, between Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and Brétignolles-sur-Mer.
