Les Puces Sorgeaises: The Big Ascension Event in Périgord

Every Thursday of Ascension, the village of Sorges-et-Ligueux-en-Périgord hosts its famous Puces Sorgeaises, one of the largest car boot sales in the Périgord region. Approximately 300 stands take over the Parc Alain Robert and the town center for a popular and festive day of treasure hunting.

Sorges, Truffle Capital

Sorges-et-Ligueux-en-Périgord is world-renowned as the capital of Périgord truffle. The village houses a truffle ecomuseum and is located in the heart of the white Périgord truffle fields, about twenty kilometers northeast of Périgueux. This green and authentic setting gives Les Puces Sorgeaises a rural and friendly atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of large urban markets.

A Weekend of Celebration

Les Puces Sorgeaises are part of the Fête des Vétérans (Veterans' Festival), a festive weekend organized in Sorges around Ascension Day. The program includes: the grand car boot sale, of course, but also painting exhibitions in the vaulted cellars of the château, musical entertainment, a concert, and food stalls offering local specialties and various food trucks.

300 Stands for All Tastes

Exhibitors offer a wide range of items: furniture, tableware, clothing, toys, books, trinkets, tools, vinyl records, and curiosities of all kinds. Parc Alain Robert, a large green space in the heart of the village, provides a pleasant setting for setting up stands and welcoming visitors. The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, ideal for a family outing on Ascension Day.
