A garden sale by the water

Maillé is a picturesque Vendée village in the Poitevin Marsh, famed for its port and landing stages. On this port the DEVISE association (DEVeloppement Initiative Solidarité Environnement) runs its annual garden sale, paired with a local producers' market. 2026 edition on Sunday 26 April — its 4th edition or so, with around 20 exhibitors.

More than a garden sale

The concept mixes garden-sale (plant, tool, gardening-gear swap and sale) with a producers' market (honey, jams, Vendée terroir products) and artists. The variety and setting make the event.

Maillé, Poitevin Marsh village

A Vendée commune of around 700 inhabitants, 10 km from Maillezais and Fontenay-le-Comte, on the Sèvre Niortaise. Part of the Poitevin Marsh Natural Park. Its port — traditional plates boats — is an emblematic Green-Venice access.

Around the port

A boat trip from the port is a must. Neighbouring Damvix, Arçais (Deux-Sèvres) and Saint-Sigismond complete the Marsh day. Maillezais, 5 min away, with its medieval abbey.
