Summer car boot sale in the village of Pujols-sur-Ciron, at the confluence of the Ciron and the Garonne
Pujols-sur-Ciron (33210), a charming village located at the confluence of the Ciron and the Garonne, organizes its car boot sale every summer in July. Private sellers set up their stalls in the village center to offer clothes, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, and everyday items. The event attracts bargain hunters from the neighboring towns of Barsac, Preignac, and Budos in a relaxed summer atmosphere.
Pujols-sur-Ciron is a small village of just a few hundred inhabitants, nestled in a meander of the Ciron, a river with cool, crystalline waters that flows into the Garonne nearby. It is precisely this meeting of the cold waters of the Ciron and the warmer Garonne that creates the morning mists favorable to the development of botrytis, the origin of the great sweet wines of Sauternes. The village retains an authentic rural charm with its stone houses, small church, and flowery gardens.
The Pujols-sur-Ciron car boot sale offers an opportunity to discover a preserved village in the south of Gironde, far from the urban hustle and bustle. The refreshments and food prepared by volunteers add a friendly touch to this summer day. Visitors can extend their visit with a walk along the banks of the Ciron, known for the beauty of its shaded banks and its welcome coolness in the middle of summer.
The Saint-Pey flea market returns to Pujols-sur-Ciron (33210), in the town center, organized by the Comité des Fêtes as part of the Saint-Pey Festival (first weekend of August). This private flea market / garage sale traditionally takes place on Sunday: it's an opportunity to browse among the exhibitors' stalls (clothes, toys, books, trinkets, crockery, various objects) and enjoy a friendly moment. Free entry for bargain hunters; coffee offered to exhibitors, on-site catering (meal trays, tapas, sandwiches, fries).
