Every first Sunday in September, the Vire Normandie train station district comes alive for the grand car boot sale organized by the district's Animation Committee. This event, which has become a must-attend for the start of the season in the Virois bocage, brings together some 200 individual exhibitors along the district's streets, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Much More Than Just a Car Boot Sale

Beyond the stalls of individuals offering clothes, toys, books, dishes, trinkets, and various objects, the Vire car boot sale offers a varied entertainment program: an art and craft market hosts local creators, a vintage car exhibition delights car enthusiasts, and musical entertainment provided by local bands punctuates the day. The atmosphere is festive and family-friendly.

The Train Station District, Vire's Popular Heart

The train station district is an ideal space for this type of event, with its wide avenues and squares. Exhibitors set up as early as 5 a.m. to prepare their stalls, and the first bargain hunters arrive at opening time at 8 a.m. The animation committee, made up of district volunteers, ensures logistical organization with remarkable efficiency, offering food and drinks throughout the day.
