Annual car boot sale of Saint-Lucien, a village in Beauce in Eure-et-Loir, organized every September
Every year in September, the village of Saint-Lucien hosts its annual car boot sale, a popular event for the inhabitants of Beauce eurélienne and surrounding communes. Around thirty private exhibitors offer their belongings: furniture, clothes, toys, books, trinkets, crockery, and all sorts of everyday objects. The event takes place in the bourg (village center) of Saint-Lucien in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Saint-Lucien (28210) is a village in Beauce eurélienne, located in the canton of Brou, in Eure-et-Loir. This agricultural area of Beauce, with its vast cereal horizons, is dotted with small rural communities that maintain village life thanks to their local associations. Saint-Lucien is close to Brou and Châteaudun, two reference towns for this territory.
The annual car boot sale is part of the tradition of late-summer festivals that liven up these villages on the Beauce plain after the harvest season. It's an opportunity for residents to clear out their attics, but also for visitors to have a pleasant time in the Eure-et-Loir countryside before autumn arrives.
Admission is free for visitors, and pitches are offered to private exhibitors according to the terms defined by the organizers. The event, human-sized with its thirty or so exhibitors, offers an intimate and warm atmosphere conducive to exchanges and good finds.
From Brou, take the D927 towards Châteaudun then follow signs for Saint-Lucien (approx. 10 minutes). From Châteaudun, take the D955 then the D927 (approx. 20 minutes).
Free parking in the village center.
