Sistels Flea Market

A village flea market in the Brulhois

Perched on a ridge at the crossing of the D30 and D71 roads, in the far south-west of Tarn-et-Garonne, Sistels is a rural village of 210 souls anchored in the Brulhois terroir. The local hunters' association (A.C.C.A.), a pillar of village life, organises this flea market each year in early summer, alongside its traditional winter lottos.

An open-air market on Route des Pruniers

The event sets up in the open along the Route des Pruniers, a typical country lane. The location allows aisles to stretch over a good distance, in a rural setting where plum orchards, cereal fields and Brulhois AOC vineyards alternate. The organisers provide toilets, parking, plenty of outdoor space and food service.

What you can find

Made up mostly of private sellers but open to a few professionals, the event plays the double card of flea market and antiques fair. You'll find the classics — clothes, toys, crockery, books, knick-knacks — alongside more brocante-style items: old tools, papers, rural objects, regional pottery and the occasional furniture piece. Bargain hunters from Agen, Auvillar and Valence-d'Agen love the hybrid format.

Atmosphere and tips

The event starts at 8:30 am on Sunday, leaving time for a coffee. The best deals happen early, but the atmosphere remains relaxed all day. Use your visit to drive on to Auvillar, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, just 10 minutes away: 17th-century arcaded square, round market hall and belvedere over the Garonne.
