Fressines en Folie is a festive and original event combining a flea market of up to 150 exhibitors with a spectacular soapbox car race. Organized every May 1st by the association Fressines en Fête at the Espace Albert Cailbault, this event attracts families who browse the stalls while enjoying the spectacle of handcrafted car races. Refreshments, food and party atmosphere guaranteed.
Fressines en Folie: When Bargain Hunting Meets Soapbox Racing
Every May 1st, the commune of Fressines, located a few kilometres from Niort, transforms into a festive village for Fressines en Folie. This unique event combines a large-scale flea market, limited to 150 exhibitors, with a spectacular soapbox car race over a 500-600 metre course with obstacles.
A Substantial Flea Market
With up to 150 exhibitors, the Fressines en Folie flea market is one of the largest in the Niort area for May Day. Stalls set up at the Espace Albert Cailbault and along part of the main street, offering visitors a vast browsing ground.
The Soapbox Car Race: A Unique Spectacle
The star attraction of Fressines en Folie is the soapbox car race, featuring around twenty handcrafted vehicles on a winding course with obstacles. This free, non-stop family spectacle delights young and old alike.
