The Fondation Armée du Salut Recycling Center in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon

In Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, an emblematic town in the Haut-Lignon region known for its history of humanitarian resistance during World War II, the Fondation Armée du Salut has established a remarkable recycling center in the Les Lebreyres industrial zone since 2019. Housed in a vast 1,500 m² hangar, this structure pursues a dual mission: social and environmental.

An Exemplary Integration Workshop and Construction Site

The recycling center operates as an Integration Workshop and Construction Site (ACI), offering employment and professional support to 25 people who are far from the job market. These trainees sort, repair, clean, and resell items collected in the area. In 2023, over 437 tons of items were processed, with 416 reused or recycled, thus preventing them from ending up in landfill.

Solidarity Sales in June and July

In addition to the solidarity shop open year-round (Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 11:45 am and 2 pm to 4:45 pm, and Saturday from 8:45 am to 11:45 am), the recycling center organizes special solidarity sales in June and July. These events allow for the sale of large stocks at very affordable prices and open the recycling center to a wider audience. You can find:

• Furniture: tables, chairs, wardrobes, bookshelves, sofas, all refurbished
• Clothing: all sizes, women, men, children, at bargain prices
• Tableware and table arts: dinner sets, glasses, kitchen utensils
• Home appliances: small appliances, checked and tested
• Books, toys, decorative objects: a quality jumble sale, carefully sorted
