25 years of flea market at Pontreau

The Vide-Grenier du Quartier du Pontreau is one of the largest flea markets in Charente by the number of exhibitors. Since its creation, this event has continued to grow to reach today 200 to 300 exhibitors in a vast outdoor space. The event celebrates its 25th edition in 2026, a testament to the loyalty of exhibitors and bargain hunters.

The Quartier du Pontreau and the Arboretum

The car boot sale takes place in the Quartier du Pontreau, south of Ruffec, at the entrance to the arboretum and along rue Boitant and Chemin des Vallées. This green space, opposite the cemetery, offers a pleasant setting for a summer day of bargain hunting. The Ruffec arboretum, with its varied species, provides a unique green setting for this event.

A well-established event

The Association de la Brocante du Pontreau organizes the event efficiently. Pre-registration is strongly advised by SMS or phone (9 am-7 pm) by providing your name, surname, phone number, and vehicle length. Exhibitors can arrive the day before between 5 pm and 7 pm or on Sunday morning from 5 am. The public opening is at 7 am.

Catering and festive atmosphere

The event is not just about bargain hunting: food trucks, hot and cold drinks, takeaway food, and Italian ice cream punctuate the experience. Toilets are available on site. The festive and family atmosphere of Pontreau makes it an unmissable event on the first Sunday of August in northern Charente.
