Every late August, the village of Verel-Pragondran hosts its annual car boot sale, an eagerly awaited event for locals and surrounding villages. This end-of-summer gathering is the perfect time to clear out attics and cupboards before the school year begins.

A rural village on Chambéry's doorstep

Verel-Pragondran is a small rural commune just 7 kilometres south-east of Chambéry, on the first heights of the Thuile plateau. The village retains its agricultural, peaceful character with traditional farms, lush meadows and open views over the Chambéry valley and surrounding mountains.

Relaxed browsing

Sellers set up in the village streets offering a wide variety of second-hand goods: clothing, toys, books, crockery, small appliances, garden tools, ornaments and decorative items.

A convivial day before the new term

Held on the last Sunday of August, this car boot sale marks the end of summer in the village. Visitors can enjoy a refreshment stand run by local volunteers.
