The Car Boot Sale of the Fort de Peigney (52200) is undoubtedly one of the most unique car boot sales in all of Haute-Marne. Organized within the walls of the military fort of Peigney, a 19th-century fortification overlooking the shores of Lac de Liez, this still recent event has already charmed flea market enthusiasts at its 2nd edition, with 60 exhibitors.

The Fort de Peigney is part of the defensive system that protected Langres, a city perched on its rocky spur above the Marne valley. Along with its counterparts in the forts of Cognelot, de la Justice, and other military structures surrounding the upper town, it represents exceptional military architectural heritage, typical of the defensive constructions of the Séré de Rivières period (second half of the 19th century). Its thick walls, underground galleries, and garrison spaces offer an unusual backdrop for a car boot sale.

Peigney is a commune in the Langres agglomeration, its territory extending below the upper town, along Lac de Liez, one of the three lakes of Langres. These artificial bodies of water, created in the mid-20th century, have become popular recreational areas for residents and tourists: beaches, sailing, pedal boats, fishing, and hiking are enjoyed throughout the summer season.
