The spring 2025 edition of the Vide-Grenier de Velaux was held on Sunday, May 18th at the Parc des Quatre Tours, avenue Jean Pallet. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes, the event brought together around 150 private exhibitors and numerous treasure hunters from the entire Aix basin and the Étang de Berre region. From 8 am to 4 pm, the park's shaded pathways hosted stalls selling crockery, books, clothing, toys, trinkets, and various other items, in a friendly and family atmosphere. Refreshments and fast food, provided by the Comité des Fêtes, allowed visitors to eat throughout the day. Entry was free for all visitors.
On Sunday, May 18, 2025, the Parc des Quatre Tours in Velaux hosted the spring car boot sale organized by the Comité des Fêtes. Under the Provençal sun, around 150 private exhibitors offered their second-hand items in the park's pathways, at the foot of the medieval castle of the same name.
Crockery and ceramics, books and comics, clothing for the whole family, toys, decorative trinkets, small furniture, and curiosities attracted treasure hunters from Aix-en-Provence, Salon-de-Provence, Vitrolles, and the neighboring towns of the Étang de Berre. The attractive prices set by the individuals and the relaxed atmosphere of the green park made this day a moment of conviviality appreciated by families.
Velaux, a village perched on a hillside between Aix and the Étang de Berre, is renowned for its exceptional archaeological heritage, particularly the Oppidum of Roquepertuse and its famous crouching warriors, Celto-Ligurian sculptures from the 5th century BC housed in the Marseille History Museum. The Sainte-Propice botanical trail also offers a remarkable panorama of the Roquefavour aqueduct, the tallest ashlar stone aqueduct in the world, parts of which were quarried from Velaux.
