Every year, the association Les Talents Cachés du Saint Varentais organizes a popular flea market in this charming commune located in northern Deux-Sèvres, between Thouars and Bressuire. This springtime event brings together private sellers and bargain hunters in a warm and relaxed atmosphere typical of rural events in the department.

Saint-Varent is a lively town of about 2,500 inhabitants, notable for its rich architectural heritage including its Romanesque church and tufa stone houses.
