Village bargain hunting in the heart of the Gâtine in Deux-Sèvres
Every year in June, the small village of Geay hosts its annual garage sale, a moment eagerly awaited by local residents and bargain hunters from the surrounding area. Located in the north of the Deux-Sèvres department, in the heart of the Parthenay Gâtine region, Geay offers a peaceful countryside setting, far from the hustle and bustle of large urban flea markets.
The Geay garage sale is above all a village event, driven by the community spirit that characterises the small rural communes of Deux-Sèvres. The exhibitors, exclusively private individuals, clear out their attics and cellars to offer a heterogeneous range of objects: children's toys, books, ornaments, small appliances, garden tools, clothing and fashion accessories.
Admission to the garage sale is free. It is advisable to park on the outskirts of the village and walk between the stalls. A refreshment stand offers cool drinks and light snacks. The event is generally held on Sunday, from morning until late afternoon.
Geay is accessible from Bressuire (15 km) or Parthenay (25 km). Free parking around the village.
Sunday, from 7am to approximately 6pm.
Free entry for visitors.
