The Vide-Grenier de Saint-Vaize: A Family Day by the Charente

Every year in May, the association Nounou Bout'Choux organizes the vide-grenier of Saint-Vaize in the park of the village hall, allée du Prieuré. This friendly and family event brings together between 50 and 100 exhibitors, individuals and professionals, in a green setting a few meters from the Charente.

A Car Boot Sale in the Heart of the Communal Park

The park of the Saint-Vaize village hall offers a pleasant and shaded space for this outdoor treasure hunt day. Stalls are set up from 6 am along the park paths, offering a varied assortment: toys, childcare items, trinkets, tableware, second-hand books, clothes, and various objects. The exhibitor fee, set at 2.50 euros per meter with a minimum of 4 meters, remains accessible and attracts a growing number of participants.

Saint-Vaize, a Village of Character on the Charente

Saint-Vaize is a picturesque village located on the left bank of the Charente, between Saintes and Saint-Porchaire. Its priory, which gave its name to the alley hosting the vide-grenier, testifies to an ancient monastic past. The limestone cliffs bordering the river, the troglodyte caves, and the surrounding Cognac vineyards make this area rich in natural and historical heritage. The Saint-Vaize ferry, which once allowed crossing the Charente, recalls the importance of river navigation in this part of Saintonge.

Nounou Bout'Choux, an Association for Early Childhood

The association Nounou Bout'Choux, which organizes the vide-grenier, brings together childcare providers and early childhood professionals in the area. The vide-grenier is one of their fundraising events, helping to finance activities and outings for the children in their care. This supportive dimension gives the event a warm and committed character, appreciated by families in the region.

Practical Information

Admission is free for visitors. Exhibitors can set up from 6 am, and the event continues until 6 pm. On-site catering and free parking are available. The pitch is charged at 2.50 euros per linear meter, with a minimum of 4 meters.
