The spring 2025 edition of the Vide-Grenier de Rognac was held on Place Saint-Jacques, an emblematic site in this Provençal commune bordering the Étang de Berre. Antique hunters and families gathered for a day of outdoor treasure hunting, at the foot of the Saint-Jacques oratory and on the edge of the Étang de Vaïné. Stalls run by individuals offered tableware, clothing, books, toys, furniture, and trinkets at low prices, in the friendly atmosphere of traditional car boot sales in the South of France.
The spring 2025 edition of the Vide-Grenier de Rognac brought together antique hunters and strollers on Place Saint-Jacques, in the heart of this commune of over 12,500 inhabitants nestled on the edge of the Étang de Berre. This traditional event, organized by the City of Rognac, offered a friendly day of treasure hunting under the Provençal sky.
Stalls run by individuals offered a wide variety of second-hand items: tableware and ceramics, clothing and accessories for the whole family, old books and comics, toys, small furniture, trinkets, and decorative objects. Attractive prices and a warm atmosphere invited visitors to browse and bargain along the stalls.
Rognac, whose history dates back to antiquity with the Celto-Ligurian oppidum of Castellas, offers a remarkable setting for this type of event. Place Saint-Jacques, located on the edge of the Étang de Vaïné, the eastern part of the Étang de Berre, allows antique hunters to enjoy a panorama of the water and surrounding hills. After the hunt, many visitors extended their day with a walk along the pond or a hike to the remains of Castellas and the Croix de Rognac, perched at an altitude of 270 meters.
