Each early summer, the Aviron Châteaulinois organizes its famous car boot sale in the streets of Châteaulin, on the banks of the Aulne. Now in its 21st edition, this event is one of the highlights of the Châteaulinois summer calendar. Dozens of private sellers set up their stalls to offer clothes, books, decorative items, toys, tableware, and all sorts of attic finds.

The event is generally held in June, in the bucolic setting of the banks of the Aulne and the quays of Châteaulin. Friendliness and a lively atmosphere are guaranteed, with club volunteers providing catering on site for participants and visitors. The proceeds help the club finance its water sports activities, boat maintenance, and competition travel.

L'Aviron Châteaulinois: Rowing and conviviality on the Aulne

The Aviron Châteaulinois is a water sports club based at Quai Robert Alba, in the former Larzul factory in Châteaulin. Founded to promote rowing and boat sports on the Aulne, the club offers activities for all ages and levels. It is located in an exceptional natural environment: the Aulne in Châteaulin is known for its green landscapes and wild fauna, including its salmon population.

The car boot sale is one of the events the club organizes to develop its own resources and create links with the local population. In twenty years of existence, this event has become a must-attend fixture in Châteaulinois community life. The rue de Coatigrac'h and its surroundings are the usual location for the event.

Châteaulin and the Aulne, between nature and history

Châteaulin is a town of about 5,000 inhabitants, crossed by the canalized Aulne. The Nantes-Brest Canal, which connects the Atlantic to the English Channel, passes through the town, whose quays and locks are remarkable river heritage. The town is also a starting point for hikes in the Armorique Regional Natural Park, close to the Monts d'Arrée and the Menez-Hom.
