Châteaulin Postcard, Books and Old Papers Fair

For many years, the association Mémoires de Châteaulin has organized its Postcard, Books, Stamps and Old Papers Fair on Easter Monday, at the Espace Coatigrac'h in Châteaulin. This event has become a must-attend gathering for collectors of old paper in Brittany and Finistère.

The fair brings together professional exhibitors and private collectors from all over Brittany to present and sell their items: old postcards depicting Breton and French cities, landscapes or scenes of life, old and second-hand books, stamps, coins, archival documents, menus, posters, and all sorts of old papers. Each edition may highlight a particular theme, such as the local history of Châteaulin or specific historical periods.

Mémoires de Châteaulin, guardian of local heritage

The association Mémoires de Châteaulin is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the historical and memorial heritage of Châteaulin and its surroundings. It collects documents, photographs, postcards, and archives related to the town, and organizes exhibitions and conferences to keep local memory alive. Its annual fair is part of this mission of transmission and sharing.

Collectors attending the fair can find rare items related to the history of Finistère and Brittany, as well as national or international documents. Old postcards, true visual witnesses of the past, hold a prominent place, with series dedicated to Breton cities and villages from the Belle Époque to the 1960s.
