In La Puisaye, the annual car boot sale is intimately linked to the Saint-Jean festival, traditionally celebrated at the end of June. Each year, on the occasion of this patronal festival, the village comes alive with a large sale that brings together individuals and exhibitors offering clothes, furniture, crockery, books, toys, and trinkets. The event takes place on the Place de la Mairie and in the village streets, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The 2025 edition has been scheduled for June 22nd, confirming the traditional link of this event with the summer solstice and Saint-Jean. This outdoor sale, organized with the support of the municipality, is one of the unmissable summer events in this rural area of northern Eure-et-Loir.
La Puisaye is a village of 251 inhabitants located in the north of Eure-et-Loir, in the Forêts du Perche community of municipalities. With its 2,055 hectares of land, this rural village is surrounded by forests and hedgerows, on the border of Normandy and Perche. Its town hall is located in the village center, in the heart of a landscape of hills and meadows typical of this transitional region between the Eure-et-Loir plain and the Perche Orne.
Saint-Jean is one of the oldest popular festivals in France, linked to the summer solstice and rural traditions. In La Puisaye, the car boot sale is part of a festive day that can include music, shared meals, and entertainment for residents and their neighbors. This convivial dimension, rooted in local traditions, gives the event an authentic and endearing character, far from large commercial fairs.
