A Festive and Colorful Village Fair

The Vide-Grenier de Genouilly is much more than a simple car boot sale: it's a true annual village fair that combines a flea market, plant fair, craft market, and entertainment. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes Genouillois, the event unfolds in the streets of Haut Bourg and Bas Bourg, transforming the village into a space of conviviality and discovery.

Genouilly, a Village in Berry

Genouilly is a rural commune in the Cher department, located about 25 kilometers southwest of Bourges. This small village in Berry, with a few hundred inhabitants, retains an authentic rural character with its stone houses, its community hall, and its picturesque streets. The commune is surrounded by agricultural land and woods, offering a typical country setting of Berry.

Horticulturists, Artisans, and Bargain Hunters

From 6:30 am, the first bargain hunters explore the flea market stalls while horticulturists offer vegetable plants, flowers, and shrubs. Local artisans exhibit their creations, and musical and artistic entertainment punctuate the day. Fairground rides are set up for children, and several refreshment stands and food stalls allow visitors to eat. The flea market is reserved for individuals selling personal and used items.
