Annual car boot sale in Chélun, a small village in the Pays de La Guerche-de-Bretagne in Ille-et-Vilaine
The Chélun car boot sale brings together exhibitors and bargain hunters every year in this very small village in the southeast of Ille-et-Vilaine. Individuals offer clothes, toys, tableware, trinkets, and various objects in an intimate and rural atmosphere, in the heart of the hedged farmland of the Marches de Bretagne.
The Vide-grenier de Chélun is a human-sized event that enlivens this very small village in the southeast of Ille-et-Vilaine. Private exhibitors offer a selection of second-hand items: clothes, toys, trinkets, tableware, books, tools, small furniture, and flea market objects. The atmosphere is that of an authentic country car boot sale, where everyone knows each other and prices are particularly attractive.
Chélun is one of the smallest municipalities in Ille-et-Vilaine, with about 250 inhabitants. Located 10 km south of La Guerche-de-Bretagne, within the community of communes of Vitré Communauté, the municipality extends over a hilly hedged plateau, at the borders of Brittany and Mayenne. This territory of the Marches de Bretagne preserves a remarkably preserved rural landscape: centuries-old hedges, ponds, sunken lanes, and permanent meadows. The tiny village center, grouped around its church and a few granite houses, embodies deep rural Brittany.
The Chélun car boot sale appeals to lovers of authentic flea markets with its intimate setting and village atmosphere. No crowds here: you can hunt for bargains in peace, chat with exhibitors, and enjoy the galette-saucisse from the refreshment stand. Entry is free.
The Chélun car boot sale returns on May 25, 2026.
