Annual car boot sale in the village of Éton, between Verdun and Étain in Meuse
The village of Éton hosts its annual car boot sale in the village streets. Individuals set up their stalls to sell clothes, toys, crockery, books, tools, trinkets, and all sorts of objects. The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, conducive to strolling and finding good deals. Visitors take their time browsing the stalls while enjoying the rural setting of the village.
Located halfway between Verdun and Étain, the village of Éton is part of the characteristic landscape of the Woëvre plain, a vast agricultural area in the Meuse department. With its approximately 200 inhabitants, Éton retains an authentically rural character. The surrounding lands, dedicated to mixed farming and livestock, create a landscape of fields and meadows dotted with groves.
Like many communes in the Meuse region, Éton bears the traces of World War I. The sector between Verdun and Étain was the scene of fierce fighting. Today, the serenity of the village and its surroundings contrasts with this troubled past. The car boot sale is an opportunity to discover this peaceful rural territory in the center of the Meuse.
