Car boot sale at altitude in the Bellefontaine resort, Haut-Jura
The Bellefontaine car boot sale is held every year in this Haut-Jura commune, perched at over 1,000 meters above sea level. Organized in spring and sometimes a second time in September, it attracts bargain hunters in an exceptional mountain setting, between lakes, fir forests, and pastures. The pitch is offered at 10 euros for 5 meters. A pétanque tournament and a refreshment stand complete the day.
In the Haut-Jura, at over 1,000 meters above sea level, the village of Bellefontaine organizes an annual car boot sale popular with bargain hunters and lovers of the Jura mountains. This event, scheduled for spring (May) and sometimes a second time in September, offers a unique bargain hunting experience in a postcard-perfect setting.
The Bellefontaine car boot sale stands out for its exceptional natural setting. Stalls are set up in the village, surrounded by fir forests, green pastures, and lakes. The pure mountain air accompanies bargain hunters as they browse the stands in search of good deals among everyday items: crockery, trinkets, toys, clothes, books, and sports equipment.
Beyond bargain hunting, a pétanque tournament is organized in the afternoon from 2 p.m., adding a festive dimension to the day. A refreshment stand with food is available on site. The exhibitor pitch is set at 10 euros for 5 meters.
Bellefontaine is a commune in the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Jura, a renowned cross-country ski resort in winter and a popular hiking destination in summer. Located between Morez and Les Rousses, it benefits from a preserved natural environment with numerous lakes (Lac de Bellefontaine, Lac des Mortes) and breathtaking views of the Jura ridges. The car boot sale is an opportunity to discover this mountain territory in its spring or summer splendor.
Bellefontaine sometimes offers two car boot sales per year: one in the spring (May) and a second in September, at the start of the autumn season. The September car boot sale, organized in partnership with the Ski Club Morbier-Bellefontaine-Morez, offers a last opportunity to hunt for bargains outdoors before the arrival of autumn in the mountains. Both events attract visitors from all over the Morez valley and neighboring resorts, making Bellefontaine a small flea market hub in the Haut-Jura.
The Bellefontaine car boot sale returns in spring 2026 in the Haut-Jura, at over 1,000 m altitude. Bargain hunting and pétanque tournament on the program.
