Flea market of the patronal festival in the Haut-Jura resort
Every first weekend of September, on the occasion of the patronal festival, the village of Bois-d'Amont hosts a flea market and car boot sale organized by the Association of Parents of Students (APE). Located at 1050 meters altitude in the Haut-Jura, a stone's throw from the Swiss border, the village offers an exceptional natural setting for this day of treasure hunting.
Exhibitors, mainly individuals from the Haut-Jura, offer a variety of items: mountain clothing, ski equipment, toys, tableware, books, and trinkets. The atmosphere is that of a mountain village flea market, friendly and authentic, where conversations flow between locals and visitors.
The profits from the event are entirely donated to the school activities of the Bois-d'Amont school. The APE thus finances educational outings, shows, and teaching materials for the village children. It is a moment of community solidarity that mobilizes parents and residents.
Bois-d'Amont is a winter and summer sports resort in the Haut-Jura, famous for its cross-country skiing trails of the Transjurassienne and its Musée de la Boissellerie. The village, nestled at the bottom of the Orbe valley, offers splendid panoramas of spruce forests and high-altitude pastures. The September flea market marks the end of the summer season and the beginning of the mountain autumn.
