The Verghelles 'Braderie', June's event in the Châteaux-Verghelles district

Located in the residential Châteaux-Verghelles district in Lambersart (59130), on the north-western outskirts of Lille, the Verghelles 'Braderie' is one of the ten annual street markets organized by the city's associations between May and October. It stands out for its size — approximately 350 exhibitors — and its setup across several streets in the district (rues de Rome, de Paris, de La Haye, de Bruxelles, Winston Churchill, allée de la Concorde, allée du Rhin), making it one of the most popular on the Lambersart calendar.

The event is run by the Association Verghelles, a non-profit and apolitical organization that unites residents of the Châteaux-Verghelles district and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024. Beyond the 'Braderie', the association organizes family-friendly and convivial events throughout the year (neighbourhood party, walks, district activities).

The Verghelles 'Braderie' is reserved for private individuals (the sale of animals is prohibited) — it is therefore primarily a large neighbourhood garage sale. Bargain hunters will find a wide variety of second-hand items: clothes, toys, furniture, crockery, books, decoration, small household appliances, games, childcare items. The atmosphere is family-friendly and good-natured, in a green residential setting typical of Lambersart.

Practical information: access is free for visitors, the Lille metro serves Lambersart, parking is available around the district, and a food truck is usually present on site. Exhibitor registrations are done in person at the Eugène Duthoit centre (rue Henri de Moraes) on four dates in May-June, with priority given to residents and members during the first two.
