Ty Trouv'Tout car boot sale organized by the Franco-English twinning committee Plouescat-Braunton, every April
In April, the Franco-English twinning committee Plouescat-Braunton organizes its Ty Trouv'Tout car boot sale at the Parc des Sports in Plouescat (29430). Around fifty exhibitors offer clothes, toys, books, and various items. Entry €1.50, stands from €4.50/m. Profits fund Franco-English cultural exchanges.
Every spring, the Franco-English twinning committee Plouescat-Braunton organizes its popular car boot sale called Ty Trouv'Tout (in Breton: "the house where you find everything") at the Parc des Sports, Rue de Verdun, in Plouescat (29430). This friendly event brings together private sellers offering adult and children's clothing, shoes, toys, books, games, decorations, and everyday items at affordable prices.
The event is one of the highlights of Plouescat's community life. The profits from stand fees and paid entry help finance the cultural exchanges and trips organized between Plouescat and its English twin town of Braunton, in Devon. This Franco-English twinning, active for several decades, is a fine example of cultural cooperation between two coastal towns sharing a common attachment to the sea and local traditions.
Plouescat (29430) is a commune in northern Finistère, on the Côte des Légendes, between Saint-Pol-de-Léon and Lesneven. Known for its remarkable market halls – the Halles de Plouescat, a listed historic monument – and its wild coastline, the town is enlivened by dynamic community activities. The twinning committee is one of the key players in this community life: it organizes youth exchanges, language stays, and cultural meetings between the inhabitants of Plouescat and Braunton.
The Parc des Sports, located on Rue de Verdun near the post office, is an open space that can accommodate exhibitors indoors and outdoors. Its central location makes it easily accessible for visitors on foot or by car.
Private sellers pay a stand fee to the organizing committee: €4.50 per linear meter (2-meter tables provided), €2 for a clothes rack (not provided), and a flat rate of €15 for outdoor spaces. Visitor entry is €1.50. The event is held in April each year.
