The toy fair of southern Amiens
The Toy Réderie of Sains-en-Amiénois takes the traditional Picard name of réderie to specialize it on the world of childhood. This original format, halfway between the classic flea market and the consignment toy fair, allows families from the village and surrounding towns to sell games and toys directly to buyers.
Sains-en-Amiénois is a town in the first suburban ring of Amiens, located about ten kilometers south of the Picard metropolis. Easily accessible from Amiens by country roads, it has retained its village identity despite the proximity of the city.
Like many toy fairs organized in November, the Sains-en-Amiénois Réderie benefits from the ideal slot preceding the end-of-year celebrations. Parents find the opportunity to prepare Christmas gifts at modest prices, while sellers conveniently dispose of toys their children no longer use.
The typical offer of a toy réderie covers all ages: early-age items for toddlers, toys for 3-6 year olds, games and toys for 6-10 year olds, items for preteens and teenagers, childcare equipment. Many toys are presented in their original box.
Like all events of this type in Picard villages, the Toy Réderie of Sains-en-Amiénois draws its strength from its local roots. Families gather, children wander between stands looking for treasures, parents chat between neighbors.
