Medieval festival of Levie with medieval market, jousting and entertainment, early September in Alta Rocca β 13th edition
The Medievals of Levie is the leading medieval festival in Corsica, held every early September in the village of Levie (Alta Rocca). The 13th edition, from 5 to 7 September 2025, brings together 7,000 to 8,000 visitors around knight battles, an artisan medieval market, street performances and educational workshops. A unique event rooted in the rich medieval heritage of Alta Rocca.
Every early September, the village of Levie, perched at 800 metres altitude in the Alta Rocca micro-region, transforms into a medieval city to host one of the most original cultural events in Southern Corsica. The Medievals of Levie, whose 13th edition was held from 5 to 7 September 2025, bring together between 7,000 and 8,000 visitors each year around a rich and varied programme that brings the age of knights back to life.
Created in 2012, this festival draws direct inspiration from the exceptional medieval heritage of Levie and Alta Rocca, particularly the Capula Castle, a fortress built in the 9th century that dominates the region.
One of the highlights is the medieval market, set up at the southern entrance of the site. Artisans from across the region exhibit and sell their medieval-inspired creations: forged metal jewellery, leather goods, costumes, pottery and ceramics, spices and condiments, local Corsican products, decorative weapons, illuminations and calligraphy.
The heart of the programme consists of armoured knight battles, historical re-enactment demonstrations. Jugglers, travelling musicians, medieval storytellers and dancers animate the village streets.
The educational workshops are an important dimension of the event. Medieval calligraphy, hand pottery, forging, shield making, heraldry initiation, discovery of Middle Ages medicinal plants β these workshops allow everyone to learn the arts and techniques of the era.
The Medievals of Levie return in early September 2026 for a new edition in this Alta Rocca village. Knight battles, artisan medieval market, street performances and workshops for a unique medieval festival in Corsica. Exact date to be confirmed on medievalesdelevie.com.
