During these few days, the shop fronts in the city center spill onto the sidewalks: racks of clothing, shoes, fashion accessories, beach and sports items, leather goods, decorations, and many other items are offered with significant discounts. The atmosphere is festive and lively, with the pedestrian streets of Bastia's center transforming into a long open-air shopping gallery. Locals and tourists alike take advantage of these last summer days to find great deals.

A Long Commercial Tradition

Bastia's summer street sale is part of a long tradition of French summer sales, the most famous being that of Lille. In Bastia, this event is organized by the Union des Commerçants de Bastia, an association that brings together independent and chain stores in the city center and works to promote commercial activity in the capital of Haute-Corse.
