Permanent stamp, coin and old postcard market at Place Bellecour, Lyon 2nd – every Sunday 8:30am-1:30pm year-round
The Place Bellecour Stamp Market is one of Lyon's oldest and most faithful collectors' markets. Set up every Sunday from 8:30am to 1:30pm on Place Bellecour in the 2nd arrondissement, it gathers a community of enthusiasts around their respective specialities each week. You'll find mainly postage stamps from France and around the world — mint, used, in blocks, booklets or thematic collections —, old and modern coins and banknotes, old postcards depicting towns, villages, trades and scenes of everyday life in days gone by, as well as first day covers, philatelic documents and collecting materials.
Place Bellecour is the largest pedestrian square in France and one of the largest in Europe, covering 62,000 m². Located in the heart of the Lyon Presqu'île in the 2nd arrondissement, it is the central point of the city, equidistant between the Saône and the Rhône. Dominated by the equestrian statue of Louis XIV, the square is surrounded by buildings in pink brick characteristic of classic Lyonnais architecture.
