Spring Fair and Flea Market of Argy, 250 exhibitors around the Renaissance castle
The Spring Fair and Flea Market of Argy is one of the largest events in the north of Indre. Approximately 250 exhibitors take over the village streets for a day that combines a traditional agricultural fair and a flea market. You can find antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, tools, clothing, as well as plants, farmyard animals, local products from Berry, and local crafts. The setting is exceptional: the village is dominated by the magnificent Château d'Argy, a masterpiece of Renaissance Berry.
The Château d'Argy is one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Indre. Built in the 15th and 16th centuries, it features a unique Italian-style gallery in Berry, inspired by those in the Loire Valley. The castle, its moats, and its park provide a sumptuous backdrop for this spring fair. Visiting the castle can perfectly complement a morning of treasure hunting and discovery.
Fairs are an ancient tradition in Berry. Since the Middle Ages, villages and towns have organized seasonal fairs that mix agricultural trade, crafts, and conviviality. The Argy Spring Fair perpetuates this tradition by adding a flea market, creating a hybrid event that attracts both bargain hunters and families looking for plants and local products.
Argy is located on the D943, 25 km north of Châteauroux and 15 km south of Buzançais.
