Every August, a flea market and car boot sale takes place at Pré du Mez in Buzançais, a large green area by the Indre river. Around 50 exhibitors, professionals and individuals, offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, tools, books, clothing, toys, and bric-a-brac. The green and shaded setting of Pré du Mez makes it a pleasant place to hunt for treasures in the middle of summer.
Buzançais is a small town of about 4,400 inhabitants crossed by the Indre river, between Châteauroux and Tours. Its 12th-century medieval keep, its old houses, and its bridge over the Indre form an endearing architectural ensemble. The Pré du Mez, located by the river, is a natural space popular with walkers and families, offering an ideal setting for summer events.
The August flea market in Buzançais is appealing due to its relative coolness thanks to the proximity of the Indre river and the trees of Pré du Mez. Admission is free.
The Buzançais flea market returns on August 17, 2026, at Pré du Mez.
