The spring car boot sale of Champagnole, at the foot of the Haut-Jura
Every spring, Champagnole hosts its traditional car boot sale which marks the return of good weather in the Haut-Jura. This event brings together the inhabitants of the town and surrounding communes who come to clear out their attics and offer their finds to passing bargain hunters.
Sub-prefecture of the Jura, Champagnole is a town of 8,000 inhabitants located on the banks of the Ain river, at an altitude of 540 meters. It is the gateway to the Haut-Jura and benefits from an exceptional natural environment between forests, lakes, and waterfalls. The car boot sale takes place outdoors, allowing visitors to enjoy the mountain setting while hunting for treasures.
This car boot sale attracts a family and popular crowd. You can find everything: children's toys, clothes of all sizes, dishes and trinkets, books, garden tools, decorative objects, and small furniture. Prices are generally very affordable, and bargaining is part of the game. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, reflecting the welcoming nature of this Jura town.
