30th edition of the large Scherwiller flea market organized by the MJC in the streets of the town center
The Scherwiller Flea Market celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026. Organized by the MJC (Youth and Culture Center) of Scherwiller, this emblematic spring event takes over the streets of this charming wine-growing village on the foothills of the Vosges. Over a hundred private exhibitors offer furniture, tableware, books, toys, clothes and collectibles. New this year, the 2nd Creators' Market takes place in parallel at the Haag Hall, highlighting Alsatian artisans and designers. Barbecue, tartes flambees and crepes available on site throughout the day.
The Scherwiller Flea Market is an institution. Created three decades ago by the Youth and Culture Center (MJC) of the village, it has become one of the must-see spring events in central Alsace. For its 30th edition, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, it takes on a special anniversary dimension. From 6 a.m., more than a hundred private exhibitors set up their stalls along the cobbled streets of the town center, turning this charming wine-growing village into a vast open-air market where bargain hunters and strollers can wander from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The flea market is strictly reserved for individuals, making it a privileged place to find treasures at low prices. Antique furniture, Alsatian tableware, crystal, porcelain, old books, comics, vinyl records, postcards, vintage toys, knick-knacks, vintage clothes, small decorative items, old tools, kitchen equipment: all the worlds of second-hand goods are represented. Bargain hunters can stroll through the picturesque streets of the village, lined with half-timbered houses and wine-growing courtyards, in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
Innovation from the previous edition, the Creators' Market is back for its 2nd edition in 2026. It takes place alongside the flea market, at the Haag Hall, and highlights Alsatian artisans and designers. Jewelry, ceramics, textiles, artisan cosmetics, decorations, illustrations, leather goods: visitors can discover the talent of local creators and leave with unique pieces. The 2-meter tables are rented for 10 euros for creators, while the flea market spots are charged 15 euros for 5 meters for individuals.
The Scherwiller MJC makes sure that bargain hunters and exhibitors fully enjoy their day. A barbecue, tartes flambees and crepes are offered throughout the event, accompanied by drinks and local beers. The atmosphere is particularly friendly, in the pure tradition of Alsatian village festivals. Scherwiller, a wine-growing village of 3,200 inhabitants located between Selestat and Chatenois, offers an exceptional setting for this event: half-timbered houses, flowered bridges over the Aubach river, and vineyards on hillsides are part of the charm of a visit to this village ranked among the most beautiful on the Alsace wine route.
