Antiques and curiosities fair in the historic rooms of the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil, the Carcassonne of Berry
The Salon des Curiosités du Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is an annual event that brings together about thirty antique dealers in the historic rooms of this medieval castle nicknamed the Carcassonne of Berry. For two days in July, the Salle des Archers, the Salle des Équipages, the Sellerie, and the castle courtyard host stands of antiques, flea market items, and garden decorations. The Salon des Curiosités of the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is a unique event in Berry. Every year in July, for two days, about thirty antique dealers set up their stalls in the historic rooms of the castle to offer visitors antiques, flea market items, and garden decorations. The stands are located in the Salle des Archers, the Salle des Équipages, the Sellerie, and the castle courtyard.
The Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil is nicknamed the Carcassonne du Berry due to its impressive fortified ramparts flanked by round towers, reminiscent of the ramparts of the Occitan city. Classified as a historic monument, this castle features a Renaissance residence surrounded by labeled remarkable gardens. The visit to the castle and its gardens complements the Salon des Curiosités experience for heritage and fine object enthusiasts.
The Salon des Curiosités is aimed at bargain hunters, collectors, and decoration enthusiasts. The selected antique dealers offer a wide range of items: antique furniture, art objects, paintings, lighting, silverware, ceramics, garden decorations, and various curiosities. The historic setting of the castle adds a cultural dimension to this high-end bargain hunting experience. Catering on site is available on both days.

From Bourges, take the D2076 towards Saint-Amand-Montrond then follow signs for Ainay-le-Vieil (approx. 50 minutes). From Saint-Amand-Montrond, take the D951 then the D11 (approx. 15 minutes).
Free parking at the castle.
Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
