Salernes, a small high Var village in the Provence Verte, is world-famous for its ceramic and terracotta tradition, especially its hexagonal tomettes that have paved Provençal floors for centuries. Its heritage gives the village a unique identity, upheld by around twenty active ceramic workshops.
The weekly Friday flea market on Cours Théodore Bouge, the main plane-lined avenue, adds lively animation. The Friday 2 January 2026 edition opens the year of this peaceful tradition.
Unlike most Var flea markets, Salernes' takes place on Friday with extended hours 10am-6pm. The choice suits village life and lets visitors combine hunting with galleries, markets and restaurants.

A smaller but varied display of Provençal crockery, ceramics, linen, curios and small furniture. Weekly rendezvous continues all Fridays 2026.
