The terroir market and car boot sale by the Petrus Anima association on the Causse Méjean
The Petrus Anima association is organizing an event combining a terroir market and a car boot sale in Saint-Pierre-des-Tripiers, a village perched on the Causse Méjean. This mixed format reflects the philosophy of this remote village: valuing local resources, whether gastronomic or second-hand.
The terroir market brings together producers from the Causse Méjean and neighboring gorges: sheep and goat cheeses, honey, jams, cured meats, aromatic and medicinal plants from the causses, organic products... The car boot sale adds its popular touch with second-hand items from the inhabitants.
Petrus Anima ('the soul of Pierre' in Latin) is the cultural and local development association of Saint-Pierre-des-Tripiers. In a village of less than 100 inhabitants on an isolated causse at 900 meters altitude, maintaining associative life and organizing public events requires extraordinary commitment. This event testifies to the vitality and pride of the inhabitants of the Causse Méjean.
Saint-Pierre-des-Tripiers (48150) is a village in Lozère located on the Causse Méjean, between the Tarn and Jonte gorges. This limestone plateau at 1000 meters altitude, swept by the winds, is one of the most preserved natural areas in France. The village owes its name to the 'tripiers' who made the famous 'tripoux', an emblematic gastronomic dish of the region.
