Hunting in a nature park in a small bocage village
Francis Aucoin Park, formerly the Eau Vive leisure area, is Saint-Paul-Mont-Penit's green lung. Pond, picnic area, playground, shade — a perfect outdoor sale venue. 2026 date: Saturday 27 June.
Typical village association sale: a few dozen private sellers, friendly authentic atmosphere, a morning for hunting and strolling. Visitors combine hunting with lakeside stroll, family picnic, kids' play. More family Sunday out than commercial event.
~1,000 inhabitants. Midway Palluau and Le Poiré-sur-Vie. Typical Vendée bocage: winding lanes, hedges, scattered farms, preserved rural heritage. Vie et Boulogne community.
Named after local figure Francis Aucoin, redeveloped as a multipurpose public space: lakeside stroll, picnic, playground, multisport court. Hosts many local events including the sale.
Palluau castle, Aizenay (10 min), Le Poiré-sur-Vie, Challans (25 min), Mervent lake (30 min), Côte de Lumière (35 min). Many bocage hiking trails.
