Saint-Jean-de-Monts Flea Market

A flea market in the heart of a family resort

Saint-Jean-de-Monts is one of the largest Vendée coastal resorts, with 8,000 year-round residents and over 70,000 summer visitors. Along 8 km of fine sandy beach, backed by the Pays de Monts state forest. The Saturday 24 May 2026 flea market is part of the spring programme, just before the summer influx.

On Place du 11 novembre, at the Crédit Mutuel car park, it enjoys a central, walkable location from the seafront Esplanade de la Mer. Mostly private sellers display their finds in a laid-back atmosphere.

Saint-Jean-de-Monts, queen of the Côte de Lumière

Congress centre, casino, 18-hole golf course, water park, marina and nearly 50 sports clubs. The pedestrian Esplanade de la Mer concentrates shops and restaurants. The vast forest features an exceptional cycle network (150 km in the area) linking Notre-Dame-de-Monts, La Barre-de-Monts and Fromentine.

Tips

Spend the morning at the flea market then enjoy a beach walk and seafront lunch. In May, seafood restaurants and crêperies are open but uncrowded - ideal for a relaxed stay.
